American Idol original icon Kelly Clarkson is officially making her return this year.
Earlier this month, Clarkson emerged with a new single, “Heartbeat Song,” and now she’s announced the album it will appear on, Piece By Piece.
The record, which marks Clarkson’s first full-length musical foray (her 2013 Christmas album excluded) since she released her 2011 platinum album, Stronger, will arrive March 3 on RCA. Clarkson’s been dropping clues about what it will sound like on Twitter over the past month or so.

Genre wise, she won’t be making any leaps on Piece By Piece. Like all of her other albums, it will be rooted in pop. “People keep asking,” she tweeted. “My next album is pop. But I am always influenced by music I love, which is pop-rock/country/r&b/dance #whoknowswhatsnext.”
